The ultimate goal of US policy towards Russia is breakup of Russian Federation

This is why US has pumped billions of dollars into "democracy support" in Ukraine and Georgia. Effectively this was buying people including high-level agents of impact. The US uses Ukraine and other former Soviet states as blockposts for the containment of Russia. After breakup of Russia, we see the southern and Asiatic areas of Russia detached, the northern parts will form future Russia fully subordinated to the US world order. The real eye opener for the Russians was how effectively US managed to get the breakup of Serbia and forming the new state of Kosovo. Indeed, Russia conventional military power pales in comparison to the US with its 500 military bases around the world, 11 strategic air carriers and countless bombers. But anyway, the US/NATO knows that in case of conflict Russia has no choice but to use tactical nuclear weapons and Russian rockets are no laughing matter. This is what keeps the US from directly encroaching on Russia but it does not stop the US from taking strategic positions around it. The US will pump a lot of money to keep Ukraine since the objective here is eventual breakup of Russia. While the current operation "Ukraine" has not been a full success (due to the overoptimistic opinions by the agents) it is still a success since Russia was provoked and now have a full scale local war on their border. This had to be done in a clever way without overt US military action to avoid use of nuclear missiles by Russians.
